The MSU Linguistics Student Organization (LSO) hosted the inagural Graduate Linguistics Expo at Michigan State (GLEAMS). Twelve graduate students at Michigan State presented their work at GLEAMS, and there were two invited talks from Donca Steriade (MIT) and Richard Larson (Stony Brook).
Ai Taniguchi presented her paper "Manufactured Mirativity: A Compositional Account of Japanese -ka-yo" at Formal Approaches to Japanese Linguistics 8, hosted by Mie University in Tsu, Mie, Japan.
Ni-La Lê presented her paper, with Cristina Schmitt, "Plurality in classifier languages: A view from Vietnamese plural morphemes" at the Berkeley Linguistic Society 42nd Annual Meeting, hosted by University of California, Berkeley in Berkeley, California.
