About the LSO

Welcome to the Michigan State University Linguistics Student Organization, which represents MSU linguistics graduate students.

The purpose of the LSO is to promote interest in and communication about linguistics and related fields. It aims to foster cohesiveness in the greater linguistics community by providing opportunities for academic, social, and professional development and interaction.

We're based in the Department of Linguistics and Languages at Michigan State University. Many of us are affiliated with the various labs in our department, including the MSU Language Acquisition Lab, the MSU Sociolinguistics Lab, the MSU EEG Lab, the MSU Phonology Group, and the MSU Semantics Group.
