On November 19th and 20th, we will be hosting our bi-yearly alumni event centered around careers in linguistics. We have invited Jonathan Choti (Ph.D., 2015) to talk about how to thrive as a professor and facilitate a workshop around job-searching techniques, important job application procedures and documents, interviewing skills, profile of a successful faculty, relationship between language and culture, and strengthening small programs at your workplace. This event has two goals: Connections with alumni and professional development. We would like to establish firm connections with our alumni and give current students the opportunity to interact with alumni. We want current students to be able to get a better idea about how a graduate degree in linguistics can be used within and outside of academia. For more information, click here.
